9. How do I run the speed reading workout?

SpeeRead has two main components:
  • Testing component:
  1. Reading speed test
  2. Memory capacity questionnaire
  • Training component
  1. Speed reading workout

The workout is the fast reading learning phase and starts after the initial tests (T1-T3 + Q-Q3)
A learning module has several training sessions, usual 5 or 6
Between sessions you will go through a test + questionnaire to measure the achieved performance
The training consists of several texts written in accessible language and between 2,000-2,500 words.
Training takes place at least once every day and takes between 20-30 minutes
It can be also  repeated several times a day, if you wish so

Speed reading is worthless if it is not accompanied by proper memorization and understanding of the information you read!
 
To perform the fast reading workout, proceed as follows:
  • Press the START button. A colored cursor that marks one or more words appears on the screen
  • Follow the cursor movement and read the word or words marked by the colored cursor
  • After scrolling the entire text the cursor stops. Press CONTINUE to continue the workout
  • The cursor travel speed is progressively increased on the same text
  • The number of selected words is progressively increased from one text to another
  • At the end of each workout, the activity is validated by submitting the corresponding form
  • You will get automatically to the validation page at the end of each workout session
  • By validation you confirm that you have completed that workout session
  • Verify that the ID field is filled in before submitting the validation form
  • Focus is on cursor tracking combined with reading and understanding of marked words
  • Understanding the text improves as your eyes become accustomed to the cursor movement
  • Once learned, quick reading can be used for any kind of text support (screen or paper)
  • Rapid reading is retained after it has been taught and no computer is needed to use it

IMPORTANT - For successful workout!
  • Choose a period of time when you will not be disturbed
  • Seek to be in an optimal mood, fatigue does not help
  • If you feel the need, relax 2-3 minutes before you start
  • If you do, use eyeglasses or contact lenses
  • Do not rush, read at your own pace to not distort your performance
  • Do not pass the test under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The result will not be conclusive!
